Employing insect-inspired forms which become metaphors for the present human condition, Leah Hardy's current works are narrative and contemplative in nature. These stories illustrate personal inquiry into social behavior, ethics, politics, and most recently, climate concern. Fragmented, altered with mechanical elements or re-contextualized, these life forms reference our fascination with immortality and desire with the underlying yearning to connect, communicate and gain insight. These works offer a simple starting point for conversation about our humanity and how to work together to affect change on a local, national and universal level. . .all beginning with a shared sense of curiosity and wonder.
